Fannish Madness

So my christmas eve christmas present was POTC 2 and since I didn’t do a rambling for it before I had to do one for it now. Let me say I loved this movie. A LOT! The converted christian pirates, the dog, Norrington w/ no wig (who knew he was kinda good looking under there!), Tia Lamda, the gorgeous scenery, the monkey! all the references to the first movie and of course all of Jack’s trademarks most notably “Hide the rum!” when he first spotted Elizabeth. Heeeeee!
The three way sword fight where Elizabeth got completely ignored was HILARIOUS! Wow does she embody the word petulant though. Seriously!
Davey Jones was damn creepy, even more than all of the dead pirates together from the last film. The Kraken was pretty damn neat if not all that frightening and Davey Jones’ men were very well done with the graphics and the make up and all that junk. The love triangle w/ Jack, Will and Elizabeth was interesting and the characters themselves seemed to have grown a lot since the very beginning. The imagery from this film will stick with me for a very long time, Elizabeth in the rain in the beginning, her dress floating into the depths the huge fight in the shallows with all that light blue water around it. It was an AWESOME movie!
I got sick of the fighting on top of rolling things, and the damn cage and the cannibals fairly quickly. But the rest of it made up for those bits oh so much! Jack called Davey Jones a slimy git for crying out loud! It was fantastically funny and witty and I loved it lots, savvy?
